Coach & Mentor
The Mentor/Coach initiative provides consistent and caring community mentors and committed peer coaches to guide, support and inspire ex-prisoners to develop attitudes and skills that will help them to become successful in their personal lives, as members of the community, and at work; and to reduce recidivism and the return to incarceration.
Community Mentors are matched and meet regularly one on one with reentry participants to support them through their transition through provision of their insight, life experience and role modeling.
Peer Coaches are successful graduates of the Reentry Program who assist in the facilitation of Transitional Support Groups, and who determine, schedule, coordinate and assist in the supervision of monthly community service projects where reentry participants have the opportunity to apply their new understanding of restorative justice through giving back to the community through service.
